Anne-Marie Duff is an English actress and narrator. Her first TV appearances were during the latter part of 1990, after she was a graduate of Drama Centre London. She gained fame as Fiona Gallagher, the lead character on UK television's Shameless during its first two seasons. The Virgin Queen (2006) came next, in which she was the title role, Queen Elizabeth. The TV series From Darkness (2013) also had her playing the lead character. Duff played roles in films such as Enigma 2001 The Magdalene Sisters French Film The Magdalene Sisters French Film in 2008 The Last Station Nowhere Boy Before I go to Sleep (2015) and Suffragette. Duff was nominated to win BAFTA awards for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress as well as Best Actress in Shameless The Virgin Queen. In addition to this she won the BAFTA Cymru Award in Best Actress in 2007 for her performance in the TV movie The History of Mr Polly. Anne-Marie Duff excels as an English award-winning actress. Her work has seen her perform in theatre, radio and television equally well. The actress gained fame in the mainstream as Fiona Gallagher from the British drama-comedy TV series Shameless.
